Spicy black bean burgers

What you’ll need: 16oz can of black beans-rinsed and drained, 1/2 red bell pepper chopped, 1/2 cup chopped scallions/onions, 3 tbsp cilantro, 3 cloves garlic, 1 egg, 1 tbsp cumin, salt to taste, 1 tsp hot sauce, 1/2 cup oats,

Dry beans after draining, mash in a medium bowl with a masher or fork until thick and pasty.  In a food processor, finely chop pepper, cilantro, onion and garlic.  then oats then egg, then spices.  then stir into mashed beans

Divide into 4 patties and cover with wax paper.  Freeze for at least 2 hours.

cook in the oven on a lightly oiled bake sheet on 375 for 8-10 minutes on each side.  OR cook on medium heated sprayed skillet for 7 minutes on each side.
